You don't always need to replace everything. A worn sign or façade can often be restored — cleaned, repaired and looking new — for a fraction of the cost of starting from scratch.
Many businesses assume an old sign or a faded façade can only be fixed by replacing it entirely. That's often not the case: cleaning the structure, repairing what's damaged, repainting or upgrading the lighting can leave a sign looking new without the disruption or cost of a project from scratch. At Original Graphics we assess every case honestly: if it can be restored, we tell you, and if it genuinely needs replacing, we tell you that too.
We step in at any stage of wear, from preventive maintenance to a full renewal.
We start with an on-site visit to assess the real condition of the structure, materials and electrical installation — this is what decides whether restoring makes sense. We give an honest diagnosis, with photos and a detailed quote, before touching anything. If the sign can be saved, we work in phases so the business isn't left without signage during the work; if something needs a full renewal, we use the same material and original fixing system whenever possible.
We use anti-corrosion treatments for metal, UV-resistant exterior paints, and LED components compatible with existing structures, so upgrading the lighting doesn't force a rebuild of the whole electrical installation.
For businesses with a sign or façade carrying years of visual identity they don't want to lose, premises that have just changed hands and want to bring back an existing sign instead of taking on the cost of a new one, and any business wanting to extend the life of its sign before considering a full replacement.
The workshop is in Caldes de Malavella, right by the AP-7 motorway, which lets us give quick service across the whole province of Girona — Girona city, Figueres, Blanes, Lloret de Mar, Salt, Palafrugell, Olot and the Costa Brava — and the rest of Catalonia, from la Jonquera down to Barcelona.
Is restoring a sign cheaper than making a new one?
In most cases yes, especially if the base structure (support, box or letters) is in good condition and only cleaning, repainting or a lighting upgrade is needed. The final cost depends on the real condition of the piece, which we always assess with an on-site visit.
How do I know if my sign can be restored or needs replacing?
It mostly depends on the condition of the internal structure and whether the original materials can take an intervention. We do a no-obligation on-site assessment and give an honest recommendation, even if that means telling you nothing needs doing.
Can an old neon sign be upgraded to LED without changing the design?
Yes, it's one of the most common interventions: the original look and typography stay the same and only the light source is renewed, with significant energy savings and less maintenance.
Do you work on whole façades or just individual signs?
Both. We work on a single sign as well as the whole shopfront: signage, vinyl, lit elements and finishes.
We restore signs and façades across Girona province.
You don't need to replace it all.
Just bring it back.
